SEMA SNEAK PEEK: “Indominus” TRX x Addictive Desert Designs

Without a doubt, the Ram 1500 TRX is one of the most exciting new vehicles released in the past year. The 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 it shares with the Dodge Hellcat produces a stupendous 702 horsepower and 60 lb.-ft. of torque, living up to its T-Rex namesake (especially when compared with the latest Ford Raptor). As such, we’re excited that one of the trucks featuring a MagnaFlow performance exhaust system at SEMA this year will be “Indominus,” a 2021 TRX that owner Jared Glover has partnered with Addictive Desert Designs to turn into a true off-road monster.

Geared Up and Ready to Go

According to Glover, the goal with the truck was for it “to be stronger, more functional, faster, and of course LOUDER than in its stock form.” The first part of this transformation began at Addictive Desert Designs in Phoenix, AZ. There, the truck was treated as a test mule for the launch of ADD’s new line of products for the TRX. These components include ADD’s Bomber Series front and rear bumpers, as well as their Stealth Fighter Chase Rack and dual bed-mounted spare tire carriers. To keep the road ahead illuminated, the chase rack and bumper are fitted with red-backlit Rigid 360 Series lights. Complementing this look (and naturally, for additional situational awareness), red rock lights have been mounted all along the underside of the truck. The rest of the work on the build was completed at Glover Customs, part of Jim Glover Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Owasso, OK.

Indominus utilizes a leveling kit from Foutz Motorsports. For improved traction, the stock wheels have been replaced by a set of Black Rhino Chase Wheels wrapped in 37” Nitto Ridge Grapplers. A Ripatuned Incognito pulley makes the most of the upgraded wheels and tires by helping ensure more of the TRX’s Hellcat-powered might is put to good use when it’s needed.

Giving The T-Rex Its Roar

One of the driving inspirations behind Indominus (or, as its license plate reads: “NDOMNS”) are Glover’s three sons, who all love the movie Jurassic World.  Naturally, his kids thought all the T-Rex easter eggs that can be found both on and in the truck were awesome. Obviously, such a truck couldn’t well claim to be king of the dinosaurs without a menacing sound to match its menacing profile, which is where our xMOD Series Cat-Back Performance Exhaust System (#19552) came into the picture.

Glover can’t get enough of how epic Indominus sounds with its new exhaust system. He loves the engine’s new acoustics so much that he’s bringing the TRX to SEMA with the xTreme Deletes straight-pipe modules equipped. However, once SEMA has come and gone, Glover plans to swap in his xMOD system’s NDT Modules for tamer early-morning cold starts that won’t wake his family or neighbors.
