Featured Build: HALO INFINITE JEEP GLADIATOR

MagnaFlow recently teamed up with our friends at Rockstar Energy Drink and Xbox in their efforts to turn a stock Jeep Gladiator JT into the vehicular manifestation of Master Chief, star of the Halo video game franchise. The rig was designed by auto industry icon and Rockstar Performance Garage owner Nic Ashby and built to celebrate the upcoming release of Halo Infinite on December 8th. In celebration of the game’s upcoming release, Rockstar has reclad several of its fan-favorite flavors with Master Chief-themed cans designed by five unique artists. These limited-edition artist-series cans will offer fans in the United States and Canada the chance to unlock exclusive in-game content and win daily prizes. The bespoke Master Chief Jeep Gladiator will be given away to one lucky winner as the sweepstakes grand prize.

The vehicle is inspired by the power of Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, and as such, is kitted out with enough capability-enhancing gear to keep pace with a future UNSC Warthog. To begin with, the engine was retuned using a MPV12+ from HP Tuners after being fitted with a custom cold air intake and throttle control module provided by K&N. A Mishimoto heavy duty transmission cooler, power steering cooler and silicone hoses were also installed. The extra cooling helps keep the upgraded PSC Heavy Duty power steering setup with hydraulic ram assist operating optimally. An sPOD power source system is used to control the vehicle’s accessories.

Of course, our primary contribution to this special Jeep is its exhaust system, with a custom MagnaFlow dual exhaust with Halo-inspired tips. The tips are designed to be reminiscent of most fans’ favorite weapon from the games: the M41 SPNKR rocket launcher. I mean, it couldn’t be a proper Halo Jeep without including a few big guns, right? The design of the exhaust exits was a labor of love, with the result being dual exits that are pretty much exact replicas of the barrels on the M41.

The front with a Dana 60 front axle housing and Yukon Hardcore locking hubs, with a Dana 80 axle housing in the rear. Yukon Gear & Axle custom 1350 drivelines have also been installed front and rear. R1 Concepts custom engraved slotted rotors and high performance ceramic off-road pads have also been added to ensure that this beast can stop on a dime, no matter the terrain. Artec Industries Full Aluminum Belly skids protect the drivetrain. A JKS J Spec 4.5” J-Krawl System works in concert with Fox 2.5 Performance Elite Shocks, Fox bump stops, front-and-rear Rock Jock ANTI-Rock sway bar systems, 20” Black Rhino Abrams wheels and Mickey Thompson 43” Pro XS extreme mud terrain tires to handily conquer any earthly obstacles.

Key to this vehicle is its Master Chief aesthetic, which is where the armor provided by Fab Fours comes in. These protective enhancements include a Front Grumper conversion with fender system, ViCowl Windshield Armor, Fab Fours Jeep Gladiator Sport Rack, Fab Fours Rock Sliders, Fab Fours JT Rear Fender System, Fab Fours JT Full Surround Doors and Fab Fours JT Rear Bumper. This armor, combined with the Patriot Liner exterior performance coating in HALO Themed Master Chief Edition OD GREEN, really captures the visage of the heroic Spartan-II super soldier.

As you can already tell, this rig is about more than just looking awesome, and features plenty of bells and whistles, including Schosche Powersports mounts and accessories, a WARN 10k Zeon winch with synthetic lines, Powertank portable CO2 system, Factor55 Fairlead and E-link and Baja Designs lighting all around.

The interior has been brought up to John-117’s standards as well, including PRP Summit Daily Driver seats and rear bench seat, Motobilt seat brackets, Rugged Radio Intercom and GMRS Communications system, additional Schosche lifestyle mounts and accessories, Stinger 10” touchscreen display integrated head unit, Patriot Liner accented dash pieces and carbon fiber accent parts.
