LOCAL LEGENDS AND LONGTIME FRIENDS

We recently stopped by the shop of our old friends and partners at West Coast Customs to install one of our exhaust systems and check out their latest builds. Yes, this is the very same West Coast Customs (WCC) you’re likely familiar with from TV shows such as Pimp My Ride and West Coast Customs (formerly known as Street Customs and later Inside West Coast Customs). Our visit to their newest location in Burbank, California, proved to be a real treat, as it’s always exciting to see what WCC has been up to.

They’ve apparently been busy with quite a few projects, as evidenced by the menagerie of rare and unique vehicles parked on the shop floor and stored to the brim in the facility’s vertical car stackers. The ride that we were there to see is a 2020 Dodge Charger being customized by WCC for the winner of a giveaway promotion run by WorldStar Hip Hop.

THE BLACK MAMBA CHARGER

The lucky winner wants a vehicle that looks, sounds and feels powerful, while also paying homage to his personal hero, the late Kobe Bryant. To make these wishes come true, the team at WCC set about transforming the respectable-yet-routine Dodge Charger into a king of the streets that embodies the competitor-crushing spirit of The Black Mamba.

The Charger has been wrapped in Avery Satin Black vinyl and a West Coast Customs wide body kit has been installed. 20” Lexani Stuttgart wheels and Continental Tires have also been fitted. Staying true to the build’s inspiration as a tribute, the body kit and wheels are finished in gold, while the brake calipers and rearview mirror caps proudly pop with Lakers purple. Other fine aesthetic touches include custom 3D-printed emblems and embroidered headrests. The color combination and refreshed profile of the car result in a ride that is at once both stylish and striking.

One point the contest winner and future proud Black Mamba Charger owner made was that he wanted the vehicle to “rumble.” That’s where our expertise at MagnaFlow comes in. To ensure that this Charger would “rumble” with the best of them, we removed the stock exhaust system and replaced it with a compatible MagnaFlow Dodge Charger Exhaust System (#19522) from our Street Series, featuring 2.5” mandrel bent tubing, a crossover pipe, dual straight-through mufflers, dual rear resonators and polished tips. As a result, the presence of this car is now felt and heard wherever it goes with a degree of effortlessness that would have made Kobe proud.
