COLD START COLLABS: Zach Zaiden’s Subaru WRX Exhaust
THE PROJECT
A while back, Zach Zaiden from Camburg Racing stopped by our HQ because he was looking for a way to spruce up his dark blue 2013 Subaru WRX. He enjoyed the car but wanted an exhaust that would really bring out its character. A shouty, racecar-like sound would be a bit much. Instead, he wanted something a bit tamer, while still sounding unique.
That’s where our expertise came in. Once we got a sense for what he was looking for in an exhaust system, we began to plan our next moves. Ultimately, we decided to go with a cat-back performance exhaust system from our Street Series line. It offered the enhanced sound and flow that Zach was looking for without excessive levels of volume thanks to extensive testing by MagnaFlow and our use of No Drone Technology.
THE SYSTEM
The MagnaFlow Street Series system we decided to go with is designed to boost the exterior exhaust sounds of the vehicle while keeping the interior comfortable. The polished stainless-steel system features 3” mandrel bent tubing and a single, large straight-through muffler which leads to a quad-split rear exit. Its designed to bolt on easily as a direct replacement of the stock exhaust system Zach had been running up to that point. To top things off, the system is covered by MagnaFlow’s limited lifetime construction warranty.
PERSONAL TOUCHES
While Zach was pleased with the performance of his new MagnaFlow exhaust, he felt that the appearance of the system could use an update to better match the rest of his ride. His new setup was great, but it was lacking a personal touch. The solution? Replacing the polished stainless-steel tips with carbon fiber ones that better matched his car’s aesthetic.
THE RESULTS
The result of Zach’s exhaust upgrade is downright transformative. Whereas the stock system that he was previously running lacked any meaningful personality or style, his newly customized exhaust from MagnaFlow checked those desired boxes with ease. Now Zach’s Subaru thunders with MagnaFlow’s deep signature exhaust sound whenever he steps on the throttle, all while staying calm and relatively quiet in the car’s interior. All of this is made possible thanks to the detailed engineering that goes into every one of our performance exhaust products. Zach loves his new system, and we’re so happy that we were able to help his customized vision become a reality.
