The sound is very deep, aggressive and definitely accentuates the distinctive sound of the horizontally opposed 4. Performance from idle up has been felt. Also all the chromed parts were individually wrapped to prevent being damaged. Both the welding and chrome finish are of excellent quality and finish. My car now has a nice sound to it, without being to loud. The price wasn't to bad either, mine had free installation, which wasn't reflected in the price, unlike some places. This time around i used a magnaflow 2.5 inch cat followed by 2.5 inch mandrel bent piping to a 4 inch round 18 inch long muffle as a resonator back into pipe and through a 5x8 14 inch long muffler topped off with a dual tip magnaflow tip. sound is outstanding smooth all the way to 8500 rpm no buzzing at all. thankyou very much. After hearing some of the audio clips that i found on www.magnaflow.com i was sold so i called up a local shop (B&B Muffler of Hurst, TX) that i also found on the website through the "find a dealer" link and set up a date where they could install a custom exhaust system using 2.25" tubing and Magnaflow's Street Series mufflers (part # 14821) and had them installed within an hour or so. I don't even have to step on it for the car to be zoomin' down the street. All i do is just push on the accelerator a lil bit and my car is off a full 2 seconds faster than when i had my stock exhaust system on it. The sound is total heaven too. My shop talked me out of a dual setup because they say duals aren't needed for a naturally aspirated V6. Gotta tell ya, they were spot on...good pickup in power and torq across the rpm band. Installation was pretty straightforward, although I did have to loosen the downpipe a bit. TIP: When you're ready to tighten the system up, start from the BACK and work your way forward! After I recieved the new exhaust, I immediately noticed the quality. The installation of the Magnaflow was fast and easy, no adjustments were needed. The sound of the exhaust is very mellow when cruising around casually, but get aggressive and the exhaust gets mean. I've heard dozens of diffrent exhausts, and none of them can match the sound of the exhaust. This exhaust stays smooth and deep, even at WOT. Many other 'cans' are just too loud, obnoxiuos, and raspy. The performance of the exhaust is great when paired up with an intake, headers, and Magnaflow cat. There are reasonable gains throught the whole rpm range, with the largest gains from 5k and up. If you are looking for an excellent exhaust at a resonable price, BUY THIS EXHAUST. I purchased it online and received it a day later. The instructions were sequental, taking the guess work out of installation. The only extra step I took was taking off the rear wheel for access. The installation was a one person (myself) job, in about 60 minutes. Firing up my Integra was the best part. It has that deep roar, unlike some of those rice burner exhaust systems. There is a much quicker throttle response over the stock system. I'm going to enjoy driving this daily. I recieved the new exhaust and immediately noticed the quality of the exhaust. The installation of the Magnaflow was fast and easy, no adjustments were needed. The sound of the exhaust is very mellow when cruising around casually, but get aggressive and the exhaust gets mean. It is hands down one of the nicest exhaust sounds I have ever heard on a 4 cylinder. The more I drive with the new exhaust the more I love it. This exhaust stays smooth and deep, even at WOT. The performance of the exhaust is great when paired up with an intake, headers, and Magnaflow cat. My car just drives so much better. There are reasonable gains throught the whole rpm range, with great gains from 5k and up. If you are looking for an excellent exhaust at a resonable price, BUY THIS EXHAUST. I have been having some minor problems with the local law enforment around my area about face cars (nice looking cars) And when I get pulled over they always try and find something to give me a ticket for and most of the time they would talk about my tint on my glass being too dark or the muffler system. I try and explain that this is a Magnaflow system and was professionally installed and is legal in 50 states. Can you guys send me something in writing so I can print off and show these cops that they are wrong and that these muffler systems are professionally made and tested? I just need some help with proof of the system being legal in the 50 states. Thanks I don't even see what the big deal is my system is so quite all it gives off is a nice low tone almost close to stock. Great system!!! The sound is deep and low at start-up and low rpms. Only slightly louder than stock at wide open throttle, but with a deeper tone. Makes the 3.0 liter V-6 sound a bit like an NSX with Comptech exhaust. Coupled with K&N Typhoon intake, I have gained about 15-20 hp. I'd recommend your cat-back system for this application. Then I found yours...your FULL catback was $700 LESS than most of your competitors' mufflers!! I listened to the sound clips and I was sold...what an amazing system. No drone, no rasp and a good hp improvement that I could feel. Best of all, the system fit with no issues (it was tight around the cross member, but took only a 1 minute adjustment to make it work) and the tips line up. I especially like the fact that you use double walled tips to keep the tips from turning gold like they do with those allegedly 'prestigious' European brands. I love my MagnaFlow for my M3! Brian Newton - marion, VA USA 1990 VW Jetta GLi About 3 Years ago i went to the local muffler shop to get my exhaust replaced. the one that was on the car when i bought it was very restrictive, even more so than the original. i asked what kinds of sport exhaust systems were available. he showed me in his magnaflow catalog and i decided that a full catback was too expensive so he said he could order a hi-flo muffler and bend the tubes himself for a considerably lower price. i decided to go with that option and he ordered a direct-fit hi-flo muffler. i went to the shop after it came in and within a couple of hours he had everything bent and in place, including 2.5" tube throughout, a glasspack mid-muffler and the replacement magnaflow. i started it up and the shop was filled with one of the sweetest sounds ive heard short of a V12. i paid the $480 for a new hi-flo cat as well, and now i have a superb sounding car. It is very nice CAT. It reduces my exhaust sound a lot which I mean it's GooD!!! Before I used my car without the CAT. for about 3 months, it was just too loud so I had to install this one to get away from the sound and polices... The performance?...I didn't feel any differences between strieght pipe and the pipe that has this CAT. on. I highly recommend for you guys to have the CAT on your car because one of my friend got a fine for $2500...so you guys might want to think about this nice piece. Graound clearance is slightly lowered, I get a couple scrapes if I'm not careful on my driveway, and some speed bumps in the neighborhood. I'll just avoid them from now on. I didn't notice any performance gains and the directions were completly off. You do have to make at least one cut in the old system when they say you don't and they say to attach the Inlet pipe 3 1/2" from the converter when the real case is like 3 1/2 feet. It did only take 45 minutes to put it on. The result was a definite improvement, but something was missing. The generic muffler that had been fitted just souded anemic on such a soulful car. I went back to the shop and tried to explain the sound that such a car deserves. Obviously they understood me, because the Magnaflow muffler they fitted brought back the music that makes me want to drive around with window down all year round. Magnaflow would be the messiah. I was horrified at the thought of my car sounding like a lawn mower. The exhuast note has a beautiful growl with an almost stock sound at idle and under normal driving conditions. I spent over half the msrp price of the magnaflow system on a chopped muffler shop job. That was a big mistake especially after I saw the welds and the workmanship put into your system. Then added an air intake upgrade. and now just this weekend I had to take it in for a catalytic convertor replacement because my Civic was failing smog. Well I never thought about replacing the whole exhaust system until the shop gave an unbelievable price to replace the whole thing. about 40 min later I crank that sucker up and Whooooosh! the shop put in 2" tubing, a Magnaflow C.C. and Magnaflow exhaust with dual tips. R - Easton, PA  1996 Volkswagon Jetta I installed the Magnaflow S.S. cat-back exhaust on my 2.0 Jetta. The hardest part was getting the stock exhaust off. It bolted on in about 45 minutes and fits perfectly. It looks and sounds nice and aggressive. When you step on it, it's got a very deep growl but when you are cruising it's almost as quiet as stock. There is a very noticable increase in power all through the RPM range. I would also recommend that you get a Magnaflow hi-flow converter with it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this system to any V-Dub owner. It got a deep throaty sound to it. My CIA stole some low end torque from me and the muffler/taking off the resonator improved my low end back to normal and then some. When i had thought about gettin an exhaust system 4 my cavy i didnt know wat 2 think. i new magnaflow had excellent exhaust systems but with my cavy i was afraid it would sound like a ticked off little bumble bee and wanted 2 avoid that at all costs so i called magnaflow and was told with a cat-bck exhaust it wouldnt have that affect. Finally i read on magnaflows website that a dual exhaust with little upgrades wouldnt do much so i went with a single cat-back exhaust non stainless steel. lemme tell ya wow it really works and i can barely hear it but know its there and definantely got some more hp 2 it. I did this because I always wondered what these cars would sound like without the horrible restrictive stock muffler that just kept rusting through. My friend and I put it on, and as soon as I started it up, it sounded like a completely different car; smooth, deep, and mellow just like I had expected. The stock cavalier has a 2inch exhaust pipe and I had it ripped out and a 2.5 inch pipe put in from the cat back to the muffler. Nice sound, roars in combination with the K&N short ram. I see more power coming from my engine now. Nice muffler, nice sound, deep for a 4cyl engine. Normally KIA's wouldn't even be thought of being modified, but after getting my magnaflow catback system installed by a licensed Magnaflow seller/installer, my car has taken on some reasonable gains. First, starting the car and letting it idle has a very aggressive sound and feel. At WOT, this muffler purrs and is pretty loud, but the resonator fixes that. When I get it and put it up, it does not fit good at all. and when it came it had the wrong tips. After cutting about an inch off one of the straight pipes we finally put it back up and it fits like a glove. I had to put the tips from my OEM exhaust on until I can get the correct ones from magnaflow. I was a little skeptical at first until I started the engine. Man this cat-back system sounds so good. Not all raspy and ricer sounding. It has a deep mellow tone when I'm not in it, but when I get on it man it screams! After getting the tips from magnaflow (at no charge), and everything all welded up,it looks sweet. I bought 2 Magnaflow mufflers(Street Series w/ tip 14827) for my Lexus Coupe about a week ago. I ordered on a Thursday evening and the mufflers were at my doorsteps on the following Monday around noon. That is what I call speedy service. I've never bought anything online that was so straightforward in its promise to deliver. I would recommend and encourage people to buy their Magnaflow products from the list provided by them.
