The 2006 SEMA Show is “in the can”, as they say in show business.
MagnaFlow started the show by accepting CarDomain.com’s award for “People’s Choice, Best Performance Exhaust", a great honor, and thanks to all those who voted for us.
This year’s theme was a tribute to the American Muscle Car and as such, there was an expansive display of vintage muscle cars sprinkled liberally with a mix of newer muscle cars. No one car seemed to “rule the show” in so far as having a greater presence than others and there was a good mix of cars.
The SEMA staff did a good job of weeding out consumers and focusing on Trades-people, something vendors have long pressed for. While that made people in the industry happy, it unfortunately meant that many people who wanted to go couldn't get in. After all, the show is supposed to be “trade only.” Not to worry, as we have a comprehensive photo library posted for your perusal.
While at the show, MagnaFlow hosted Mario Andretti, Ivan IronMan Stewart and Boyd Coddington in our booth, who all took turns signing autographs throughout the week. The MagnaFlow girls were also on hand for several days. This year, MagnaFlow added a third girl to hand out our new hats out at our Rig Display Space, located directly adjacent to the Overhaulin set. The lovely Lauren handed out over 5,000 free hats to passers-by. Inside the rig space, four spectacular show cars were featured.Special thanks to those builders who allowed us to showcase their beautiful cars.
With more than 120 cars on hand featuring MagnaFlow products, it seemed as if MagnaFlow had a larger than normal presence at the show…thanks to all of the specialty car builders who selected MagnaFlow for their rides, as the level of quality exhibited in these masterpieces was nothing short of spectacular. Many MagnaFlow-equipped rides won awards in their class and we’ll provide more of those details as soon as they’re made available.
MagnaFlow’s booth underwent some minor revisions this year to freshen it up, but the Lounge area inside is proving to be a popular watering hole for our VIP guests with catered lunches and the ability to get some one-on-one time with our celebrity affiliates. Thanks to all who stopped by.
As part of our ongoing exclusive relationship with OverHaulin, our own R&D Engineer Richard Waitas once again supported the OverHaulin build. Details are classified, but the build went smoothly.
Perhaps the most noteworthy point about SEMA is that many MagnaFlow staffers who are not assigned to work the show the whole week choose to stay and walk show on their own time…MagnaFlow’s staff is comprised of people who eat, sleep and breathe cars a quality that we hope is self evident in every system we produce.
Thanks again to our customers, show car builders and affiliates who have all done so much to help us put our best foot forward at this show each year.
