Post installation testing revealed a low tone, mellow growl of an exhaust note that was pleasing instead of annoying. There was enough of a throaty hum to know an aftermarket system was in place with none of the raspy howl exhibited by some other after-cat truck mufflers we have heard. So far, the MagnaFlow had passed all categories with flying colors, exhibiting quality materials for added value, simple installation, non-restrictive mandrel-bent tubing, and excellent sound characteristics. So what about the power?

Dyno tests on the stock SuperCrew prior to installation of the MagnaFlow system showed baselines of 211.8 hp at 4,300 rpm and 308.7 lb-ft of torque at 2,310 rpm. With the MagnaFlow system in place, our SuperCrew hit 227.6 hp at 4,500 rpm and pumped out 310 lb-ft of torque at 2,350 rpm. Once again, the MagnaFlow after-cat exhaust system had proven itself a clear winner. Gains of more than 15 hp and an additional 2 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels show the MagnaFlow system has all the bases covered when it comes to custom truck exhaust systems.
