Chevrolet's new 6.0L HD pickup is one very nice truck that leaves little to be desired in the way of performance. All-new stock trucks could use a bit of suspension and body tweaking in our opinion, but the performance of Chevy's latest 6.0L drivetrain is hard to improve upon. What can you do to a near perfect engine and transmission combo? How about a quality, legal after-cat exhaust system that improves horsepower and torque and delivers a mellow, throaty sound without raising any warranty issues on a brand-new vehicle? Yes, that does sound like a reasonable modification. The only question left was where to obtain what we were looking for.

As if by divine intervention, the folks at MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust recently made us aware of exactly what we were looking for. MagnaFlow's new after-cat exhaust for the Chevy 6.0L HD trucks had just become available. Past tests of MagnaFlow products convinced us that they had what we wanted. We obtained performance gains along with a mellow exhaust note and clean appearance in prior testing of MagnaFlow's products. We were looking for those same qualities in an exhaust for our bone-stock 2500 HD test mule.

2. Take your pick. You can choose from heavy, restrictive, raspy, and power robbing or go with the MagnaFlow unit for more power and better sound.
