Members of the Car Sound sales department, Ken Gold and Stephen Bloom, note that the team approach continues to keep customers happy and sales increasing.
"Three years ago, Car Sound expanded from producing catalytic converters and added performance mufflers, with the introduction of MagnaFlow," Gold said. "With increased converter and muffler sales, Car Sound has expanded its operation from one 50,000 square-foot facility to three buildings incorporating 170,000 square feet of manufacturing, inventory and office space. The company's employee numbers have increased from about 80 to 170."
With a local unemployment rate down to about 2%, one might think it would be hard to find good help, but Paolone noted that most new hires come as referrals from existing employees. That says a lot about the working conditions at the three facilities. Many of those on the payroll come from as far as 50 miles away.

stores," Paolone said. "Then the consumer brings the part to the shop and says, 'Here, put this on.' It's like someone bringing their own ham and eggs to a restaurant and asking the cook to prepare them.
"We make our products available to the installer only through select distributors. Our success has been based on serving the installer market, and that's why we have had the success we have had," he said.
For Car Sound, the proof is in the pudding. In 1998, Undercar Digest readers voted Car Sound's 94000 series universal catalytic converter a Top 10 Product. The company's MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust System captured a Top 10 Product award of 1999.
