Sweet Sounds Of Power

From this angle you can see just how much larger the tips are on the MagnaFlow system than the stock 2 1/2-inch tips. You can also make out the perforations inside the tip which give the exhaust a unique sound.



The removal of the stock system was easy, especially with a car that has only 15 miles on it. This, along with the pipes being under the rearend, makes the removal of the hangers that much simpler.


Once the stock stuff was off, the new and improved after-cat system took about five minutes to bolt on. Of course, that's with the help of power tools-without them it would take another 10 minutes, tops.



Once the exhaust was bolted on, Phil started up the engine and we could definitely hear the difference. The stock system (top) actually sounds sweet (if you like a quiet rumble), whereas the MagnaFlow system (bottom) sounds a lot more aggressive under part and full throttle. Aside from the sound, the smoother bends and freer-flowing mufflers obviously release more horsepower and torque to the rear wheels.
