It takes only a bit of shaking to loosen the ball-socket flanges form the cast-iron manifolds, which allows the H-pipe to drop out of the car.

 

Here, the MagnaFlow Tru-X is muscled into place by Tony DeSensi, while Eddie works the rear of the Tru-X into position. Once the flanges are positioned, Tony starts the manifold nuts by hand.

A comparison shot of the stock H-pipe and MagnaFlow Tru-X shows the large radius bends for better flow, and the less restrictive, twin-converter design.

 

When swapping the rear 02 sensors from the old H-pipe to the new MagnaFlow, make sure you have the correct sensor for the side of the system on which you are working. The rear 02 sensors are side specific and color keyed by their harness connectors, blue for the left and pink for the right.

The front 02 sensors are not side-specific and can be installed now or in the car, whichever is easier. Don't forget to apply fresh antiseize to the threads.

 

Here, Eddie positions the rear of the Tru-X to the Steeda side-exhaust flanges and hand-tightens the retaining nuts. Once the new system is snug, he and Tony check for proper fit and clearance. There are no clearance issues, with plenty of room around the converters and 02 sensors. With the inspection complete, Eddie completes a final tightening of the system using air tools and we're off to the dyno.

As seen in this undercar shot, the MagnaFlow Tru-X fits perfectly and has plenty of room around the transmission and crossmember. Great fit, sweet sound, and more power -you can't beat that combination.
