When you're the best at what you do, it's usually not because you compromise or because you cut corners...and we're not just talking about MagnaFlow products. Not surprisingly, that's a befitting description for one of MagnaFlow's most revered affiliates, Boyd Coddington. Boyd's work in the wheel and hot rod industry is legendary in scope and global in reach. Boyd is a no-compromises type of guy, a characteristic showcased on his weekly TV show "American Hotrod" on the Discovery Channel.

Boyd's fascination with all things automotive dates back to his childhood in Rupert, Idaho, where he devoured every hot rod publication available. At age 13, he traded a shotgun for a 1931 Chevy pickup...and the seed had been planted. By the time he turned 15, he'd bought and sold ten cars. His first real "hot rod" (a pretty rough ride by today's standards) was a 2-door powered by a flathead. As with most success stories, one could say that Coddington came from humble beginnings to say the least.

Boyd's fascination with cars and his drive to master the art of building them led him to trade school even before he graduated from high school. He studied auto body and earned a scholarship to continue his education. For Boyd, the sheer power and creative opportunities that lathes and milling machines represented offered him a conduit for endless expression for his creative mind.
After he completed his schooling, Boyd served out a three year apprenticeship after which he returned to Idaho briefly prior to heading to the hot rod capitol of the world: Southern California. It was there he began fabricating hot rods in his spare time and he quickly displayed tremendous skills for designing and building vehicles. In addition to continuing his work with street rods, Coddington also recognized a need for custom wheels and his work with billet wheels revolutionized the industry. Today, Boyd Coddington Wheels are used even by competitive rod builders.

Over the years, both Boyd and his creations such as the legendary Cadzilla, CheZoom, and the Boydsters have won countless awards, including Hot Rod Magazine's Man of the Year and America's Most Beautiful Roadster. Today, Boyd's 50,000 sq. ft. garage in La Habra, CA is home to his automotive art, his wife Jo, 70 employees and serves as the set for Boyd's own TV show, American Hotrod.

Boyd's status as legendary designer and builder was achieved only after years of hard work and research. His strong convictions and commitment to quality are principles that MagnaFlow embraces and shares. Together, MagnaFlow exhaust systems on Boyd Coddington hot rods communicate that commitment to quality to the world loud and clear.
